Overview

DigitalWind, in partnership with Evido, launched a TikTok advertising campaign for a local retail store in Cyprus. As TikTok ads have just landed in Cyprus, Evido made this campaign possible by providing access to the platform and assisting in creating the ad account. Beyond this technical support, Evido’s expertise in TikTok advertising offered crucial insights into solutions and benchmarks that ensured a smooth execution and optimized the campaign for maximum impact.

Campaign Objectives and Approach

The campaign had two main objectives. The primary goal was to drive quality traffic to the retailer’s landing page, which was optimized for landing page views. The secondary goal was to boost video engagement through 6-second-focused views, a metric that highlights emotional and tangible user interactions with the content.

The target audience was broadly defined within Cyprus, allowing TikTok’s algorithm to identify and optimize delivery to the most responsive users. A diverse array of videos was created to showcase the retailer’s offerings, ensuring broad appeal. These videos were amplified using Spark Ads, TikTok’s native ad format that seamlessly integrates with organic posts, enhancing visibility and engagement while attributing interactions back to the retailer’s TikTok account.

A high-frequency ad strategy was employed, ensuring massive exposure by delivering up to 16 ad impressions per user. The agency regularly refreshed content to maintain audience interest and prevent creative fatigue, adding new videos highlighting the retailer’s diverse product range.

Why TikTok?

The decision to utilize TikTok stemmed from the desire to test its potential as a new advertising platform. TikTok’s unique ability to blend entertainment with engagement made it an ideal choice for introducing the retailer’s offerings to a broad audience. Its algorithmic optimization ensured that the content reached users most likely to respond positively, maximizing both traffic and engagement outcomes.

Execution and Performance

The campaign generated exceptional results, achieving 2.7 million impressions and driving 20,195 quality clicks to the landing page. The CPC remained well below industry benchmarks, underscoring the campaign's cost efficiency.

Engagement metrics were equally impressive, with 331,041 six-second focused video views achieved at a CPV 4–5 times lower than average. This highlighted the campaign’s ability to capture user attention effectively. Additionally, the use of Spark Ads contributed to a notable increase in organic interactions, with the campaign directly contributing to 2,469 new followers on the retailer’s TikTok account. This growth in followers represents potential long-term engagement opportunities beyond the campaign's life.

The CPM also demonstrated significant efficiency, coming in 1.5–2 times lower than typical rates, making this campaign an excellent example of cost-effective digital advertising.

Key Learnings and Recommendations

The campaign highlighted TikTok’s potential as a powerful advertising platform. Evido’s ability to provide access and create ad accounts for TikTok campaigns in Cyprus opens new opportunities for advertisers to explore this growing platform.

Creative rotation prevents Ad Fatigue

The use of a dynamic creative strategy was essential in maintaining audience engagement despite high ad frequency. Regularly refreshing video content proved effective in avoiding creative fatigue and ensuring consistent performance throughout the campaign.

Spark Ads drive dual benefits

Spark Ads not only contributed to achieving the campaign’s primary objective of traffic generation but also boosted the retailer’s organic presence on TikTok. The additional 2,469 followers gained during the campaign demonstrated the format’s unique ability to bridge paid and organic efforts.

This case study highlights how the right combination of strategy, creative content, and platform expertise can unlock new brand opportunities, making TikTok a cornerstone of future marketing efforts.
